Workshops
D&A periodically offers workshops. Workshops focus on helping organizations create new futures and plans. Participants learn tools and techniques for transforming visions and plans into operational realities.
Workshops can be tailored to the special requests of groups to address complicated issues such as outsourcing activities, reengineering procedures, and restructuring organizations. For example, in order to help interlibrary loan and document delivery librarians prepare for new futures, a workshop was designed to meet their specific needs.
D&A is interested in helping libraries that created a new and exciting vision statement, but found that the organization got bogged down and stuck, nothing happened and the new vision faded away—business as usual prevailed. D&A workshops help organizations get "unstuck" and moving forward again.
D&A will work with sponsoring organizations. One such workshop, Harnessing Change- Implementing Innovations, was recently sponsored by the South Central Regional Library Council (Ithaca, NY). Other workshops were recently conducted through the sponsorship of the University of Louisville library and by the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Sciences.
